Thank you to all the friends.   Collegues.  IMT. UHP. people that Nick affected and caref for. Its amazing as his mother or Nana as he called me. All the love and the funds to help his wife and son out. I am sorry i missed any friends or family. As i had to leave early. I was over come with grief   Thanks so much everyone again. We are doing better. We all loved him very much and we miss him a great deal. Love you son

Just wanted to say what an awesome guy Nick was.  I have worked with Nick since he started with IMT.  There have been countless times I would be in a bad spot on the freeway, and I would hear Nick speak up to come and help me.  I know my patrol car would have been hit a few times if it wasn't for him slowing down cars behind me.  Even when I didn't need assistance while I was on a traffic stop, I would see him sitting a 100 yards behind me with his arrow board up.  After the stop, he would always come and say hi.  We had a joke between us, that we would owe each other cookies whenever one of us would help the other out.  If I gave him all the cookies I owed him, he would of needed a fork lift to get him in and out of his IMT truck.   Not hearing him check on duty with me at 5 A.M. is missed. 
 It was a pleasure knowing Nick, he was a great guy!!!

I met Nick through work when I started with UHP almost 9 years ago. Work is going to be hard without hearing His voice on the radio, seeing His smile and facial expressions, hearing His laugh, seeing Him help people. It was obvious that He loved his job. He loved helping people. He loved working with Troopers and treated all of us like family. He was gracious with sharing His amazing jerky and would talk to you about anything. He was a fountain of knowledge regardless of the subject and his personality drew everyone to Him. He would do whatever he could to help anyone He could. He did not discriminate or treat anyone poorly. He could change a tire faster than a Nascar pit crew and when tow truck drivers showed up and didn’t know what to do He would help teach them without making them feel dumb. He had the real-world knowledge that isn’t taught in schools and would spend his time not working focusing on sharing that knowledge with his Son. He was dedicated to his son and cared so much about him and his education and wanted the world for him.  Nick I'm going to miss you brother. Thanks for always having my back and helping keep me safe so I could go home to my family.

Love this man. We had great times together, long talks at night and would do anything for each other.

Tatter trained me when I was with IMT I’ll never forget listening to Rodney carrington with him! Such an amazing man.

Gone too soon!  My heart is breaking for his family and friends.  We are praying for you!  
Nick was my son’s trainer/mentor/friend/ at UDOT. Preston looked up to Nick so much.  While he was in training, Nick would bring him his homemade chili, spaghetti and coveted elk jerky.   He is respected and liked by all the IMT’s but I think Preston is his biggest fan!
  I didn’t know him personally, I only know how well he treated my son, how well he trained him, and how much Preston loved him.  The stories Preston would share with us as he was training showed how much Nick loved his job and loved helping people.   Preston will go on to use the training Nick gave him and be Nick’s mini at IMT.  I know he will make Nick proud!
