In doing things his way, he went out with a bang riding his motorcycle . . . exactly as he always wanted.
Michael Williams Rogers aka Mike, Mikey, Bill, was born on February 2, 1979, to Carolyn Rudd and Grant D. Rogers.
He was dearly loved by his parents, along with his four siblings Angie (Tyson) Larsen, Chad, Doug, and Jason Rogers.
Born stubborn as hell, he did things his way. As a child he would sit at the kitchen table for hours, refusing to eat if you cut his sandwich the wrong way. Never one to conform to the norm, he sported colorful mohawks, talked his way into being hired as an English professor in Russia, and so many others.
Michael’s life was forever made better when his “little boy” Atlas was born. He was a doting daddy, whose entire world revolved around his son. Not only was Mike adored by Atlas, but he was also a beloved father figure to his stepsons, Gage and Jack.
He was a supportive, loyal, loving partner and best friend to his dear Ashley. The time they had together was packed full of light, joy, love, adventure, and humor.
Together they spent countless hours as a family camping, riding, fishing, and making many cherished memories together.
Michael was accepting, nonjudgmental, had an irreverent sense of humor, and possessed the biggest heart and the most sensitive soul.
He had many passions - motorcycles, nature, reading, reptiles, and MASH, to name a few. But none more than his little Atlas.
Michael is preceded in death by his much-loved MODRSD, Jim Creer.
As a family, we would like to express our genuine gratitude to the first responders and those that stopped to help at the scene of the accident.
We also want to acknowledge Michael’s second family at Wright’s Motorcycle. He absolutely loved all of you.
Thank you to the countless family members and friends who have helped carry us these past several days. We are forever grateful.
There will be a Celebration of Life open house this coming Saturday, November 13th, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary at 3401 S. Highland Drive.
Casual dress, as Michael was not a fan of dressing-up!
We have set up a GoFundMe account for Ashley and their boys. https://www.gofundme.com/f/mike-rogers-family?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet.
“My brother, my brother, my brother . . . you my brother, were taken from us too soon. You ride in the wind, you watch over your little boy. If only I could hear your voice one more time. You, my brother, did what you loved - your passion for riding, your passion for family. Your love, your laugh, your smile. My brother will be missed dearly. May you rest in peace. May you ride with the angels. I love you my little brother, Mike Rogers.”
