“Irish Eyes”
Maurine Orgill George was born January 8, 1937 in Daniels, Wasatch County, Utah to James William Orgill and Ina McDonald. She was the baby girl of 11 children.
She worked for U&I Sugar, Dept. of Alcohol & Beverage Control, SLC School Dist. (M. Lynn Bennion Elementary Library), and the Corporation of the President (at the Soap Factory) which she retired from in January 2002.
She married James Peter George on March 12, 1970 in the SLC LDS Temple. From this union came 1 girl, Ina Marie. Mom also ‘adopted’ her step-daughter Michelle Hall & Ina’s sister-in-law Amanda as her own. Mom and Dad had a lot of ‘adopted’ children (too many to mention).
Mom has held many positions in the church including Primary President, Primary Stake Board Member, Scout Den Leader, and Family History Extractor until her health wouldn’t allow it.
All who knew Mom, have enjoyed listening to her many stories of growing up on the family farm in Heber, her mission to Hawaii and many life changing experiences she’s had throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, 3 sisters and 5 brothers and many dear friends. She is survived by her daughters Ina (Jeff) Oviatt, Michelle Hall (Red), one grandson, Anthony (Heather) Hall and one great-granddaughter Hailey Michelle Hall. She is also survived by one brother Merrill (Freida) Orgill, one sister Wanda (Verl) Mair and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 Highland Drive, SLC, UT. Funeral service will be held at the Riverside 1st Ward at 1148 West 500 North in SLC, UT. Interment will be in Heber City Cemetery next to her sweetheart.
We love you mom and thank you for teaching us the true meaning of love. The family wishes to thank Dr. Musci, RN Sue and the ladies in the outpatient Clinic at IMC. The family also wishes to thank the ‘Angels of Lifepath Hospice, namely Leann, Teresa, Michelle and Tiffany and many others that helped mom to the end.
