After 85 wonderful years of life and building a long legacy of service and love, she passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.
On June 10, 1957, Marlene married the love of her life, Richard Claude Wardell (Dick) in the Salt Lake Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. They were blessed with four beautiful children, Kenny Wardell (Karrie), Wayne Wardell (Jill), Sherry Jensen and Saundra Marsh (Robert), 20 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
Marlene was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. And was a caregiver to all the stray and homeless cats in the neighborhood.
Her life was dedicated to service and compassion to all that she knew. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many church callings. Her favorite callings were Compassionate service and Nursery leader. She and Dick also served a church service mission for a year. She looked forward to outings with her neighborhood and book club friends. She had a special place in her heart for little children.
Marlene was skilled in painting, photography, sewing and art. She truly enjoyed going to our family cabin and loved spending time with her family at get-togethers.
We can only imagine the wonderful celebration Mom and Dad are having now that they are together again. Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and many other loved ones.
