Marlene was born on June 21st, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Henry Reed and Josephine Hess.
She was the oldest daughter of four siblings, one brother and twin sisters.
Marlene was a devoted mother and provider to her two children. She found a great purpose in caring for her son Norman who was disabled. She loved spending time with her family but her great-grandkids were her favorite.
Marlene had a great love for animals, especially her dogs which she had many in her lifetime. She loved spending time in her yard gardening. At the age of 86 she took up side by side riding as her son in law Michael’s co-pilot visiting Utah Hill, Piute Trail and Arizona Strip exploring and being out in nature. Marlene attended and graduated from South High School.
Marlene is survived by her Daughter Deborah Jo Campbell (Michael), four grandchildren, Lindsay Ann Parry (Ben), Daniel Michael Campbell (Catherine), Micheal Jo Campbell, Parker Bret Campbell (Jonnie), 6 great-grandchildren, Twin sisters Jeanne Mabel Young (Paul) and Joyce Jane Thornton.
Marlene was preceded in death by her Son Norman Charles Proctor Jr., Parents Henry Reed and Josephine Hess, Brother James Reed Hess, Brother in Law Newell Kay Thornton and Nephew Paul David Thornton.
Marlene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will be greatly missed by her family and friends but is now at peace and with her Heavenly Father.
A graveside service for Marlene will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106, followed by an interment.
