Marilyn was a graduate of the remarkable West High Class of 1944. She worked for more than 20 years as an administrative assistant at the LDS hospital in the oncology department. Marilyn was an immaculate
housekeeper, a creative cook, and a devoted wife, mom and grandma.
Teaching all of us that it is never too late to make important changes in your life, at the age of 75, she was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by her grandsons. She loved helping others, cleaning, cooking and entertaining.
Marilyn subscribed to the quote: “If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report, or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”
Son Russell (Karen) and daughter Shauna (Jim) will carry on in faith and hard work as our parents have always encouraged us to do.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Russell F. Gardner. She is survived by her son and daughter, 5 grandsons, and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many dear friends.
We wish to thank the caregivers at the Ridge Foothill and Beehive home of East Millcreek. We especially want to thank the angles at Brighton Hospice.
