Jolene Ruth Rawlinson Kniffing joined her heavenly family on October 25, 2023, at The Lodge Care Center in Riverton, Utah following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank Leland Kniffing who passed away August 26, 2000, her parents and her brother James.
Jolene was born to Joseph Eli Rawlinson and Myrtle Ruth Argust on March 1, 1942 in Butte, Montana. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah and later studied at Brigham Young University. Jolene was married to Frank Leland Kniffing on June 12, 1985 in the Salt Lake City Temple. As a young woman Jolene was shy but cheerful. In a letter from her father, he stated that "...you are a wonderful daughter and have always honored me. I would assure you that your Heavenly Father loves you and all his children unconditionally. No matter what you do. He loves you..."
Jolene worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was also an avid genealogist, adding numerous names to both the Rawlinson and Kniffing lines. Dancing was one of her favorite activities, and she won many awards. She and her husband would go dancing every week at the Murray Arts Center in Murray, Utah. She was a dedicated animal lover and made many donations to animal based protection causes. Jolene was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and she read the scriptures daily.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Rawlinson and half siblings Rex (Maureen) Rawlinson, Anina (Ron) Reeve, Cheryl (Scott) Robinson, Mark (Raena) Rawlinson, Lisa Rawlinson and David Rawlinson. She is also survived by her niece Gina (Chase) Kerhart and nephew Brad (Bekky) Rawlinson. She has numerous other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by step daughter Jill (Stephen) Cracroft and her two step grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Cracroft Morrey and Stephen Brett Cracroft.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am at Wasatch Lawn.
