Jennie is carried closest in heart today by her husband John Mark McAllister Allen, sons Alex and Asia Huynh, daughters Jennavry and Jaylynn Huynh, and the youngest Heimee Allen. She is loved by her mother Beverly Roth and sister Suzie Roth. Jennie is also loved and remembered by the entire Allen family consisting of her parents-in-law Ann and John Allen, 7 brothers-in-law, and 6 sisters-in-law bringing with them an army of nieces and nephews who all adored her.
Her journey started on July 15th, 1981 in Seoul, Korea where she was born. At age 1 she was adopted by her loving parents Beverley and Bob Roth. Jennie's first years were spent in Scipio, California until the age of 3 when she moved to Fillmore, Utah. There she lived on a farm, hated clogging, and began going to school. In 1995, she moved to Salt Lake City where she began going to high school. In 1998, she brought to the world her firstborn son, Alex Huynh. With a newborn son, she still studied hard, worked, and fought until 1999 when she graduated from East High School. Soon after, Asia Huynh was born in 2000, followed by her first daughter Jennavry Huynh, and Jaylynn Huynh in 2003. She spent the next 10 years putting everything she had into her family while becoming a single mom to save the most important thing to Jennie, her family.
Against all odds, she was working multiple jobs and studying at SLCC striving to become a nurse. Along the way, during all the chaos she met the love of her life, Mark, in November of 2006. The two of them dated for the next couple of years until she came to the realization that he was the one. In January 2009, Jennie and Mark married. From there the dynamic duo worked together to raise the 4 problematic children. In 2009, Jennie and Mark had a miscarriage which Jennie always referred to as her “angel baby,” who is now with Jennie in the next life. The two worked together the following year to be married in the temple which took place on November 26, 2010. The family was sealed together creating a spiritual bond that would always keep them connected even into the next life. Even after 4 kids, Jennie did not stop. On December 3, 2010, little Heimee joined what Jennie called her “Tribe.”
Each year to follow, Jennie raised her family with more love than words could begin to describe. She took the family on countless fishing trips, hikes, and vacations. She always loved taking her tribe to many movies, restaurants, and places yet explored. She taught them how hard work and perseverance can sprout any flower no matter what has happened to them.
She dedicated her life to patient care, starting as a CNA for 2 years, then finding her passion for phlebotomy. She spent her remaining years as a phlebotomist. Along the way, she loved her patients and found lifelong friends with coworkers.
She was proud and overjoyed to see that her four oldest kids all graduated high school and entered adulthood without a single teen pregnancy.
She led her life with kindness, love, acceptance, and her family. She filled her days with laughter, and the outdoors, found joy in the simple things in life, and served her family and others. One of her main goals in life, in which she succeeded, was to protect and stop the cycle of generational trauma starting with her family. Jennie was an advocate and survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault. Jennie wants to spread suicide awareness and for us to know this was not a gun problem, this was the effect of child pedophilia, rape, PTSD, Church trauma, and severe depression.
Celebration of life is to be held at 2930 S 2000 E Salt Lake City, UT 84109. April 14th at 5 pm. A taco bar and salad will be provided.
