Jeanne Dahlquist (52) Salt Lake City, UT. died December 29, 2014 of pneumonia. She was born January 3, 1962 in Salt Lake City, UT to Don and Ruth Dahlquist 3480 S. 3570 E. Jeanne was born with Downs Syndrome. She was welcomed to a family of three sisters and one brother. She attended public schools and graduated from Hartvigsen School. After graduating she attended the Work Activity Center through which she had several jobs including cleaning crews, working in kitchens and doing assembly work. She was a member of the Sunrise Dance Group. The group performed all over the city and traveled to several states. Jeanne had the opportunity to travel quite a bit and enjoyed going on cruises.
Jeanne lived in her own condo with a roommate for much of her life. Jeanne liked to remind her siblings that she had been on television three times. Jeanne loved to go to the movies and to watch movies on her DVD player, she loved to color, eat her favorite foods and be with her family. Jeanne is the “favorite” sister and the “favorite” aunt. Jeanne is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jeanne is survived by her sister Denise Ludlow (Dick), Riverton, UT, her sister Diane O’Neil (Brent) Sandy UT, her brother Richard (Kathy) Holladay UT, and sister Janet Bailey (Brent) Roswell, GA. Jeanne has 5 nieces Keli, Lesli, Jodi, Cassie and Brooke and seven nephews Brian, Donald, Lance, Brandon, Nick, Bryson, and Adam.
She is preceded in death by her mother Ruth (December 31, 2010) and her father Don ( June 28, 2013). Jeanne was a catalyst for change, both in her family and in the community in which she lived. Many great things were accomplished because of her presence here on earth. Her family loved her dearly and felt blessed to have her in their lives. We’ll all miss your smile and giant bear hugs.
Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary on January 3rd, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT
