Born Janet Alvina Kehl, to Herman F. Kehl and Johnetta A. Larsen Kehl on July 11, 1929, she was a vibrant woman, who lived her life to the fullest and valued time spent with family and friends. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School. On December 3, 1948, she married Philip J. Blanda, and they had 3 children. She later remarried and her 2nd marriage was to Bobby Bert Roberts, on June 8, 1974.
She loved it best when family was together, and so provided many opportunities for family parties- celebrating holidays and birthdays, or just cooking up fresh fish from a fishing trip. With her love of music and dancing, she was often the life of the party. She had a great enthusiasm for life that shone in her big smile and sparkled in her eyes. She loved nature and the outdoors, particularly fishing and hiking, and was a dedicated gardener. She stayed active, even as a senior, dancing, hiking and going for walks. She also enjoyed bowling and golfing.
She is survived by her 3 children: Jim Blanda, KayLynn Willden, and Marie (Craig) Watson, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husbands: Philip J. Blanda and Bobby B. Roberts, parents: Johnetta A. Kehl and Herman F. Kehl, Siblings: Dorothy E. Westover, Frank H. Kehl, Albert R. Kehl, Jack C. Kehl, and William R. Kehl, Daughter-in-law: Diane Blanda and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the caregivers of Bristol Hospice for their kind service and compassionate care to mom and for the many years of service and friendship from the Olympus 8th ward.
