Janet O. Diederich, 79, passed away August 8, 2011 after a long illness. She was born July 22, 1932 to Eric Henry (Hak) Olsen and Rachel Luella (Lou) Barben in Salt Lake City, Utah. Janet graduated from East High School and enjoyed working for Scott, Louie & Browning in her early years. She married John Robert Diederich in the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 17, 1956. Together they raised 4 daughters. Janet’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life was that of being a mother. Janet spent many years volunteering as the PTA President at both Sherman Elementary and Rosecrest Elementary schools. Janet was dedicated to her family and would do anything for them. She will be remembered as a giving person and a wonderful mom. She will be greatly missed by her family. In her later years she enjoyed working for Steve Cook, attorney, as a bookkeeper. Steve became a loyal friend and Janet worked for him up until 6 months before her death. Janet is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob, and her four daughters; Jody Vorwald (Bob), Jill Guevara (Jeff), Jacque Van Mondfrans (Mark), and Jenn Diederich. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, siblings Carla Carlisle (Lindsay), Claire Lynn Patrick, Ric Olsen (Trish). Janet was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, August 12, 2011, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Family and friends may call Thursday, August 11, 2011, from 6:00-8:00PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and again Friday afternoon from 1:00-1:45PM. Interment will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
