Jim lived a very happy life full of love, faith and service to his family, his Heavenly Father and everyone around him. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School. After high school, he served an LDS mission to New England. After which he married his lifelong sweetheart, Ann, on September 5th, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jim spent 40 years working at Utah Power and Light starting in the mail room and ending his time there as a commercial account manager.
For 57 years, Jim and Ann created a legacy together. They raised 4 beautiful children, traveled all over the world and served in the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples. Jim was very passionate about temple work and enjoyed searching family records and completing the work on his own. He spent over 38 years singing in and working for the Tabernacle Choir. Jim served an LDS mission with Ann on the beautiful island of Oahu in the Hawaii Temple Visitors Center. He lived his life dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jim’s favorite thing was spending time with his family. Many summers were spent on Caribbean cruises or his favorite, Newport Beach, where he’d buy everyone an ice cream at the local Pipeline and then stay up all night laughing and playing games.
Jim will be remembered best for his love of music, his laugh, sense of humor and his ability to find good in everything.
Jim is survived by his wife Ann, his children Debra (Jay) Weight, David (Lisa) Turner, John Paul (Amy) Turner, Melissa (Chad) Camp and 18 grandchildren who adored him. He is preceded in death by his parents Wanda and Clarence Turner and his sister Janet.
