Hanna lived a beautiful and meaningful life, making a difference in the hearts of so many with her love and service. Hannelore Erica Witter Peck was born November 29, 1944 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Her parents were Adriana (Jeanne) Sluyters and Leo T. Witter. She came to the United States with her parents when she was 3 years old and together they made a wonderful life here. Hanna is the oldest of four children and loved to “mother” her younger brothers, Robert and Ronald, and her younger sister, Colleen. Hanna attended South High School and the University of Utah where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and taught school before starting her family. On June 10, 1968, she married the love of her life, Everett Cannon Peck, in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Hanna and Everett enjoyed 52 ½ years of being happily married before his passing in December of 2020. Hanna loved reading, traveling, playing games, and spending time with her family. As a true Dutch girl, she loved chocolate, tulips, and more chocolate! Hanna and Everett were loving parents to their 7 children and have 26 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Hanna loved being a mother; she was nurturing, patient and kind. She was excited to welcome her daughter and sons in law into their growing posterity and thrilled to be part of her grandchildrens’ lives. She was a wonderful aunt to her nieces and nephews and a friend to all she knew. She was the most amazing Nana and had a gift for making each of her grandchildren feel like her favorite! They often said she showered them with so much love and attention, they felt like a celebrity or gold medalist! Hanna was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including Relief Society president, Primary president, and temple ordinance worker. She was a visiting teacher who truly ministered to her sisters in the gospel. Hanna was a doting daughter, loving sister, supportive wife, selfless mother, and loyal friend. She will be dearly missed in this life, but those she left behind are confident in her joyful reunion with her sweet husband and best friend, Everett. Hanna had a steadfast and unwavering testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ and modeled her service to others after His example. She was always doing something for others and often selflessly went without. She gave freely and was a shining example of “charity never faileth”. Hanna is preceded in death by her husband Everett and her parents. She is survived by her grateful children: Amanda Black, Steven (Christine) Peck, Georgia (David) Raymond, Lynette (Scott) Montoya, Allison (Keith) Nigbur, Melanie (Jason) Coble, and Emily (Cameron) Cook.
