Ginger Roberts Brooks

Ginger was born September 18, 1951 and passed away in her home on Monday, October 30, 2023 surrounded by family. She had two wonderful parents, Dale Rex Roberts and Frances Cleo Hale. She had two siblings Douglas Dale Roberts (Barbara Smith), (Margaret Crawford), and Kristi Ann Roberts (Rob Porter). She had a happy home life.

She graduated from Brigham Young University and loved teaching and working with children.

Ginger taught school at Copperview Elementary, South Jordan and finished her career in education as a Librarian at Crescent Elementary in Sandy.

Ginger was married to the love of her life, Douglas B. Brooks, in the Salt Lake Temple on September 12, 1981. They were blessed with four children: Scott Irvine (Natalie), Michael Brooks (Kimberly) , Megan Andelin (Anthony) and Jenny Brooks. Their home was our joy and our world. They have nine grandchildren Jude, Finn, Nellie, Grayce, Joshua, Trevan, Camryn, Dylan and Emersyn. And love to our special family, Brad & Julie Pace.

Ginger was full of life and made everyone feel like they were her family. She had the biggest heart and made you feel comfortable within seconds. No one was allowed to leave her presence without something, whether it was some delicious food she made, or a craft she worked on, but you always left feeling uplifted and knowing that you mattered to her. Ginger over the years has enjoyed making quiet books, sewing pajama pants and shorts for missionaries, painting and doing ceramics, and connecting families through family history work. She had a great sense of humor and a laugh that will never be forgotten. But her greatest joy was in spending time with her family and friends.

In her mother, Cleo’s words: “Now I am gone but will watch over you and take care of you as I have in the past. Thank YOU for family, friends and the love that will last.”

A viewing will be held in Ginger’s honor on Sunday, November 5 from 6-8 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1631 East 900 North Lehi, Utah 84043). Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6 at 10:00 am at Wasatch Lawn (3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106) with a brief viewing before starting at 9:00 am. Interment will take place at Wasatch Lawn following the services.
