Fred Williams Ure

Fred Williams Ure passed away peacefully on January 24th @6;45 AM. Fred was born in Salt Lake City on November 29, 1927 to Lincoln and Crystal Ure. He married his loving wife Geraldine Greer Ure after meeting her at the University of Utah. Fred and Geraldine had five children and was a wonderful Father, Husband, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather. Fred graduated from East High School and then joined the Navy where he was in the Medical Corp in Jacksonville, Florida. After his honorable discharge in 1947 he attended the University of Utah where he received his degree in Marketing and later went to work for General Motors-Frigidaire Division and ultimately retired from that company. Dad spent his last 18 months living at Spring Gardens Assisted Living Center where he received wonderful care. Fred was an avid skier, golfer and NASCAR fan. He was also very proud of his Scottish heritage.

Fred is survived by four children Stephen (Kathy), Steffenie Peterson, Fred Stanford, and Sally Wilde (George), twelve grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Ure, wife Geraldine Ure, son Scott Ure, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held on February 9th at 2:00 pm followed by a celebration of life immediately thereafter, both at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah.
