Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away at 95 on November 10, 2017. Dorothy was born October 10, 1922 in Gooding, Idaho. She was married for 70 years to her high school sweetheart, Harold Lee Canada. Together they raised four children, Phillip Canada, Michael (Sheila) Canada, Carole (Robert) Triplett, and Douglas (Diane) Canada. She is survived by all the children, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy had two lifelong dreams: to be a nurse and to write murder mysteries. She accomplished both. At age 52 she received a nursing degree and at age 94 she published her first book. Dorothy also loved sports. She would passionately cheer for the Utes, but baseball was her favorite! She was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, and was thrilled when they won the world series in 2016.
Above all, Dorothy was a kind, caring, loving person and was known far and wide for her smile and laugh. She found complete joy in her family and friends and had a deep enduring Christian faith. It is reassuring to know she is at peace with our Lord Jesus Christ and reunited with Harold, and loved ones.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 18 at 11 AM at Risen Life Church, 2780 E 3900 S, Salt Lake City, Utah. The viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:45 - 10:45. Interment at Mount Olivet.
