Craig was born on October 13, 1942 in Murray, Utah to LaVerne G. Finlayson and Rose June Anderson.
Craig is preceded in death by his wife Janet Agnes Ryan, his parents, and two infant sons. He is survived by his children Marcus (Jennifer) Finlayson, Kara Finlayson, and Amanda Finlayson (Darrell Moore); ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Craig graduated from Jordan High School and served a mission in Florida for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended Utah Technical College and the University of Utah, where he met his wife in a ballroom dance class. They married in the Salt Lake LDS temple in 1965.
Beginning in 1965, Craig started a long and storied career with Utah Power & Light Company (PacifiCorp), from which he retired in 2002. He also served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1994 as a Sergeant First Class.
A service honoring Craig's life will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Millcreek on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
