I met Stanger through my boss at the time (Deworth Williams) in the 1970's. I was in my 20's & they were 15 + years older than me. Over the next 30 years I was invited to go to lunch with the two of them and I have to agree, Stanger told the best stories that made me belly laugh every single time as did Deworth. Many of the stories were about their younger years together and mischief they'd get into and I thought they were "cooler" than anybody I'd ever known. Oftentimes, Stanger needed me to do some work for him with his personal/business needs. I was more than happy to do anything he needed. I wouldn't think of charging him (especially after all those lunches he bought me not to mention the fun) but he always insisted he pay me. He would say, "you have bills to pay just like everybody else. You can't pay them if you don't get paid". So, every time I would oblige him by accepting his payment. Last time we communicated with each other was via handwritten letters that we both mailed and that was last year. We both reminisced a little and said we would get together for lunch again soon. I knew that might never happen due to his age and the distance between us and it brought tears to my eyes. I loved that man, I really did. He was one of the best men I've ever known. And I'm so grateful that he was in a small part of my life b/c he always played a very big part.

Dear Gerry, Seth, Rick, Leah, Cindy, Tammy and your families:
Con came into your lives at a confusing and sometimes turbulent time. But as time went on, visits to California to see your mother, Con and Lorii became more frequent. Then as more time passed, Con and Lorii not only gained your trust but your sincere love. This not only shows what kind of man he was but also the kind of children he helped your mother raise. I know you have so many  memories with Con that they can't be counted and this is a wonderful gift that you will cherish for the rest of your lives. You have all made your mom & Con very proud!
