Connie Rushton Klein passed away peacefully on Friday January 5th, 2024. Connie was born on April 22, 1931 in Scipio, Millard, Utah. She was the second daughter of Fred Harold Rushton and Nola Memmott Rushton. Her beloved older sister, Luana Mae Rushton Marshall passed away on the 12th of May 1974. Connie is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Lynn McGhan (Brian) of Mesa, Arizona, Margo Klein Fornelius (Ross) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and her son Randy K. Klein (Marla) of New York City. Her 11 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Connie grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She continued her faithful service to her savior to the end of her earthly time. She attended Brigham Young University where she was the President of Fidelas Social Unit. She graduated in 1952 with a degree in Elementary Education, and taught school in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Las Vegas, Nevada, Spanish Fork, and Salt Lake City, Utah. She was always involved in better quality teaching, eventually becoming the President of the Jordan Education Association. She taught school for fourty plus years and continued her teaching to her children and grandchildren.
Connie was a fireball of energy and enthusiasm from her childhood. Everyone was her friend. Everyone was welcome into her life and into her home. She was a grandmother to many. She faced great challenges in her lifetime, but met each one with faith and courage. She adored her children, and loved every relative who stopped by her home in Salt Lake. For many relatives Connie's home was considered their place to stay during visits to Salt Lake, and when you stayed in her home you were not just given a place to sleep, you were given a feast, and treated as if you were the most important person in the world to her. She will be sorely missed by every person who ever came within her loving shadow.
