Cindy was born in Taipei, Taiwan on July 28th, 1958, to Tom Wallace Cantrell and Pao-Feng Lee (Cantrell). As a child, she was raised in an Air Force family and lived in several countries including Taiwan, Japan, and the United States. After living in various cities with her family, she attended Brigham Young University where she met her spouse, John Parry. Cindy and John were married on July 6th, 1979, in the Salt Lake LDS temple.
Cindy was a hard worker and spent her life pursuing careers, education, and supporting her family. Cindy earned a Bachelor’s in Information Systems, which allowed her to be a SQL programmer for retail companies and financial institutions across the state. When not working for someone else, Cindy worked diligently raising her boys and running their own businesses with her husband. She became a licensed Residential Appraiser as well as a Certified General Appraiser. When her boys had grown and moved away from home Cindy sought further education, earning her MBA through Westminster College. Despite Cindy beginning to experience the onset signs of vascular dementia while pursuing her degree, she concluded her degree and continued working for several years.
When Cindy was not working, she loved to stay active. Often training for or running in marathons with her close friends. Cindy loved music and especially loved enjoying music with her husband. They traveled around enjoying concerts for many of their favorite bands and singers. Cindy served in her local church and loved to help teach and play among the children in primary. Cindy loved to socialize with her neighbors and fellow church members.
Cindy has four grandchildren, Melanie, Olivia, Carter, and Eliza. Cindy loved spending time with them and taking them to various activities. Her grandchildren loved reading with her, playing with her at the park, showing her their best tricks, and making late-night brownies.
Cindy is survived by her husband, their two sons, four grandkids, and her four brothers.
A private funeral service for family members will be held in Cindy’s honor at her place of burial, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Millcreek, Utah.
