Joyce was born in Powell, WY on September 26th, 1950 to Kenneth Lincoln Myrick and Erma Helene Wynn Myrick. She lived her life in Salt Lake City, and graduated from Highland High School and the University of Utah. She married Robert Cheney in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1994.
Her favorite pastimes would include square dancing with the Pioneer Squares. She was a member of the SLC Police Neighborhood Watch Program, where she received many commendations and distinguished service awards for her hard work.
As a faithful Latter-day Saint, she was a temple worker in the Salt Lake City Temple and served a service mission for the church. Joyce was an accomplished cook and enjoyed taking meals to friends and those ward members in need.
Survived by her husband, Robert (Salt Lake City), Bella- her furry friend, brother Kenneth L. Myrick Jr. and wife Pat (Riverton); nephews Bryce K. Myrick (Riverton) and Douglas W. Myrick and wife Ashley (Riverton).
Preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Robert M. Myrick.
The family wishes to extend their greatest thanks to everyone who has lovingly and compassionately cared for Joyce throughout her journey these last few months. As well as her neighbors, friends & ward members who helped out in so many ways.
Her motto her entire life was "service"; she will be greatly missed.
