She was born on March 12, 1929, to Alexander Pyper Anderson and Helen Woodruff Anderson in Salt Lake City. As a child growing up, she resided in the old Woodruff Villa on 5th East in Salt Lake, with her parents and four siblings. She attended South High School and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in elementary education and was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. She married Clifford A Miller on June 22nd, 1951, in Salt Lake City and taught school in Salt Lake and in Los Angeles after her marriage.
Barbara moved from Salt Lake to Los Angeles in 1955 with her husband and raised her three children and lived there until just two years ago. Barbara was very active in the community, loved her many friends, and her beautiful rose garden at her home in Los Angeles. She enjoyed walking on the beach in Santa Monica near her home and visiting the Tetons in the summer with her children and her brother and sisters. Barbara loved
all things in nature, her family and friends, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In July of 2022 Barbara moved back to Salt Lake to be closer to her sisters and her extended family. She appreciated all the wonderful friends that she made at Spring Gardens in Holladay and the dear members of the LDS branch there. Barbara was a friend to everyone, and we were all amazed at her sharp mind and how she always knew everyone’s name! Barbara was such a loving and loyal friend, and she will be missed by all those who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her son Cam Miller of Los Angeles and her daughter Stephanie Genette (Jim) of Dallas, Texas. Two grandchildren, Alex Genette and Emma Genette of Dallas, Texas, two sisters Judith A Jones (Jack) and Lynda A Tassainer of Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Clifford A Miller and oldest daughter Christin Miller, her sister Bonnie A Paulsen (Abel E) and her brother Woody Anderson (Sandy) of Albion Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary on Saturday August 24, 2024 at 11am. Interment at the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
