Barbara Ann Mercer, was born on May 14, 1943, in Montebello, California, to Robert Duncan Biggs and Lillian Esther Lieberman. Barbara passed away surrounded by the love of her family November 9, 2024. Barbara Ann Mercer was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and creativity. She was married to her devoted husband, John Mercer, for 34 wonderful years, a partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they built a family that was Barbara’s greatest pride and joy.
Barbara was the cherished mother of four children, grandmother to eight, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild. She shared a special bond with her dog, Sophie, who was her loyal companion for over 13 years and brought her endless joy.
A talented quilter and avid seamstress, Barbara poured love and artistry into each piece she created, gifting her family with beautiful keepsakes. She found joy in painting, was rarely seen without a book in hand, and could often be found solving sudoku puzzles, challenging herself with her love for numbers and problem-solving. Barbara was a savvy card player and taught her children and grandchildren many card games. Some of her favorites to play was Black Jack, Gin Rummy, Cribbage, Pinochle. She loved playing Uno with the Grandchildren.
Barbara’s life was rooted in her faith; she loved the Lord with all her heart and carried a strong testimony that she shared with everyone around her. Her faith was a source of strength, not only for herself but for all those who knew her, providing comfort, inspiration, and guidance.
Above all, Barbara was devoted to her family. Her love and dedication to each family member knew no bounds, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but will forever be remembered in the hearts and lives she touched.
