Steven William Presnell, 53, was called home on April 27, 2011, while surrounded by his family. Steve was born May 18, 1957 in Sturgis, South Dakota to Carl William and Mary Margaret (Allery) Presnell. The Presnell family moved to Oklahoma where Steve would attend grade school in Meeker and High School in Prague. After high school, Steve, joined and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon his discharge from the Army, Steve worked in the oil fields in Houma, Louisiana and later moved back to Oklahoma where he began work as a brick mason.
While living in Prague, Steve, met his long-time dear friend and companion, Lurene Cornelius and together the two enjoyed camping, spending time in his vegetable garden, watching sci-fi movies and old westerns. Although Steve did not have any children, he treated Lurene’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (too numerous to mention), who loved him very much, as if they were his own. He will be greatly missed by them.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Okiema Carl Presnell. Survivors include his companion, Lurene of the home; siblings, Shenee Presnell and wife Neana Neptune of Old Town, ME, Grayson “Cub” Presnell of Arkansas, Joseph Presnell of Dallas, TX, June Presnell Jordan and husband Mike of Choctaw, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Steve loved Lurene and her family, and we are forever grateful for their presence in his life.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Prague Cemetery. Funeral services handled by Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services of Midwest City, Oklahoma.
