Winston Perry Maxey, age 76, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord August 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Henry Maxey Jr.; his brother, H.D. Maxey Jr.; and his sister in law, Shirley H. Maxey.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Cordle Maxey; two daughters, Sarah Maxey Bosher and Amy Ruth Maxey; two granddaughters, Hannah and Rachel Bosher and their father, Keith Bosher; his nieces, Kathy Hayden, Sheri Jordan and Brenda Vay; and his nephew, Alan Maxey.
Mr. Maxey served in the Army National Guard and retired from the Richmond Sheriff's Department with 44 years of service. He was a member of Grove Avenue Baptist Church and previously Bethany Place Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30, at Grove Avenue Baptist Church, 8701 Ridge Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. Interment Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Words of Victory at Grove Avenue Baptist Church.
