STRUBE, Roger Levi, 69, of Powhatan, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 11, 2015. He was born on December 30, 1945 in Horton, Kansas and raised in Hiawatha, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lilah Strube.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lora Charles Strube; daughter, Amanda N. Strube; sons, Charles A. Strube and wife, Irika and Andrew J. Strube and wife, Sara; grandchildren, Conner, Grayson, Davis and Andrew Strube; brother, John H. Strube and wife, Carole; sisters, Nancy White and husband, Rodney and Sara Clements and husband, Rory; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Kansas State University in 1969 where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He had a successful career in Orthopedic Sales with Zimmer USA and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher. He was passionate about his family, who he always wanted to make smile, family vacations, Kansas State Wildcats, 4th of July fireworks, attending and coaching basketball, magic tricks and Kansas farming.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9400 Redbridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, Va. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718.
