Richard was preceded in death by his parents Deward Hollis Carruth and Sarah Ellen Bergdorf Carruth.
Richard is survived by his wife, Audrey Carruth; His children Nicole Carruth Duke (Eddie), Richard B. Carruth (Tracey), Wendy Callaway, Kristen Dora (Bill); His brother Douglas Preston Carruth (Sheari); His brother in-law Johnny Giuli (Zarela); Ten grandchildren; As well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Richard spent his leisure time outdoors. Hunting and fishing were favorite past times, either alone or with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones at Weatherall Farm, as well as the occasional golf game. Richard was a member of the National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting club. Rick never met a stranger, and when asked how he was doing, he always responded with "Just another day in paradise!"
There will be a memorial service held for Richard at Crestwood Church, 1200 Charter Colony Parkway, Midlothian, Virginia, 23114 at 11 AM on Saturday, September 9th. Following the service there will be a celebration of life held at Charter House, 1101 Charter Club Drive, Midlothian, VA, 23114.
