SCHUMACHER, Phyllis Dare, 86, of Midlothian, departed this life for the next on November 16, 2016. The daughter of William and Marguerite Kiser, she was born in Staunton and raised in beautiful Highland County by her mother and uncle, William Snyder. She attended Bridgewater College and earned her nursing degree at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, SGT MAJ James W. Schumacher Sr., U.S. Army Special Forces. "Bobbie," as she was known to family, is survived by sister, Louise Wolfe; daughters, Lara (Allen) Huffman and Donna (Pat) Rimell; and son, Jimmy Schumacher Jr.; grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Huffman, Carrie (Joe) Romano, Nicholas Rimell and Zachary (Michelle Parrish) Rimell; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Andrew, Eliza and Oliver; and beloved cat, Humphrey. Viewing will be held on Sunday at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, from 3 to 5 p.m. Interment will be on Monday at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
