It’s been 10 years and it doesn’t get any easier. Somehow, you find a way to continue on and yet you still can never find the way. How in the hell do I learn to live in a world where my dad doesn’t exist? It doesn’t get any easier. 

I wish you could see me today. I’m a critical care nurse, getting ready for CRNA school, living between central and south FL with my amazing boyfriend. That’s right, my boyfriend. Not sure how you would’ve handled that, but that’s okay. Getting caught up on the ‘what if’s’ doesn’t help anyone. We may have fought a lot about little and big things but we shared the same heart. I wish I could get back that part of my heart, because nothing will ever fill that space. 

I remember you always wanted me to call you ‘pop’ which I personally thought was dumb. I never liked that, lol but every now and then I threw it in there just to see you smile. To me, you’re my dad. You weren’t perfect, but you sure as hell were one of a kind. I miss you. Keep watching me from up there.

Peter was a brother to me. I always looked up to him. He would come home from school and play video games with me and take me for rides in his toyota celica. I think it was ice blue. He would give me things like polo colon and his shirts he didn't want any more. The saddest thing that I could ever be told that he is gone. And then I found out that marry ann my mother was gone as well. Pete I miss you and mom every day and I shouldn't have never went out on my own. I love you both . I'll see you soon 

I never met Pete, but based on all the kind words that have been written about him I wish I had.  

He was, clearly, a remarkable man.

I want to thank Pete's friends for putting this memorial page up for him. It will be a year very soon since he was taken from us, and if the site removes this page, then I want to say thank you for letting us come and visit, enjoy the pictures we posted, and have a measure of comfort knowing how much you all cared for my brother. He will be missed forever. Love you Pete, always. Your sister Kathy.

A loving update. Pete, I know you can see Tommy and Daddy, and for that I'm thankful. I wanted you and all your friends to know that Daddy was here at my place, and we had a wonderful time walking down memory lane about you. I hope you heard us. Daddy's memories of you and Mom are sweet, and we hope you are both together, with your sister. We all miss you so much. Always thinking of you little brother. Condolences to the Casella Family. Tommy, I remember your Dad talked with such pride about you. I remember him showing me pictures of you and it was obvious how much he loved you. I am so sorry for your loss Pam. He was such a joy to work with.

My dear sweet Pete, I'm saddened to know that I'll never hear your jokes again, your many impressions or hear you quote every movie known to man. I'll miss that incredible sense of humor of yours and that shining smile.  You were a very compassionate, funny, loving man.  You were the big brother I never had. I cannot say REST IN PEACE because I am sure you are in heaven cracking jokes with God and looking for ways to convince the Angels to try different approaches on everything. If anything, no one is resting peacefully now that you are there with your unique wit and that smile that makes everyone just shake their head and smile back at you. 
To Pam and Tommie and  all of those who loved Pete, I am sorry for your loss.  Unfortunately, sometimes when we tell someone Goodbye, we do not realize it could be for the last time.
