McCASKEY, Patricia K., of Midlothian, passed away August 18, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 44 years, Raymond R. McCaskey; daughter, Dana L. McCaskey; and brother, Charles L. Kerzan; along with all her relatives and friends.
Pat was born in Sewickley, Pa., and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Indiana University of PA and Master's Degree in Education from State University of NY at Brockport. She taught English, both in Freedom, Pa., and Rochester, N.Y. After moving to Midlothian, she worked as a sales representative at Huff United for 22 years prior to retiring. Pat was an active aerobics participant at ACAC, and was a member of the 6:05 Alive Group. She belonged to the Church of the Epiphany, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, member of Wings and participated in Miracles from the Manger. Pat was also active in The New Virginians. She enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, boating, gardening, traveling and loved animals.
Friends will be received at the Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at the Church of the Epiphany, 11000 Smoketree Drive, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Interment will follow at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Richmond Animal League or VCU Massey Cancer Center.
