Lenny was born in Allentown Pennsylvania and lived in the Lehigh Valley until August 2021. He was preceded in death by his father Claude, mother Evelyn (Gioler), brother Ronald Hausman and son by marriage, Richard Shankweiler. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan, and a daughter by marriage, Kathleen Cymbor (David) of Midlothian Virginia.
He loved racing cars at Dorney Park, hunting a variety of wildlife, collecting guns, meeting friends for coffee, and spending time with his favorite dogs and cats (a list of pets too long to include here). Lenny loved cookies! He worked at Mack Trucks, Allentown plant, for thirty years, in a variety of roles, and served as union steward in his shop. He was also proud to be a Freemason.
When he was asked, how do you want to be remembered – his answer was “as a good person.” Everyone who met him would agree he was a very good person. Lenny was always in good humor, kind to people and animals and generous to a fault. He always had a “dad” joke for any unsuspecting person he met.
When anyone asked Lenny if he would like a glass of water, his immediate response was “I don’t drink water. Fish have sex in it!”
He will be greatly missed.
