Born and raised in Minden, Louisiana, James cherished his childhood memories with his mother, brother and sisters and his beloved horse, Pal.
A retired welder, James dedicated over 20 years to his craft.
James was a devoted husband to his wife Kathi, and a proud father to his daughter Laura. He took great joy in being “Pops” to his granddaughter, Clara. An animal lover at heart, he enjoyed daily walks in the park with his dog, Mary, and was known as the ultimate handyman who could build or fix anything.
Devoted to God and always willing to lend a helping hand, James was beloved by all. He was known for his big heart, sense of humor, and his eccentricity, often marching to the beat of his own drum.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Miller, Father James David Miller, brother Jesse Randall Miller and his beloved pets Mary Jane and Crissy Pearl.
He is survived by his wife Kathi Miller, his daughter Laura Miller Pfeiffer, son-in-law David Pfeiffer, granddaughter Clara, sisters Rita McNeill and Sandra Chatham, nephews Jacob Chatham, Daniel Chatham, Randall Miller, Benjamin Miller, Andrew McNeill, Casey McNeill, his aunts Margaret Osbon and Betty Shaw and his uncle Douglas Pearson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local animal shelter in his name.
