IRBY, James Carroll, 85, of Midlothian, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lynwood, Ray and Milton Irby. Survivors include his wife, Patsye Covington Irby; daughter, Sarah Hopkins and her husband, Gary, of Alpharetta, Ga.; son, David Irby and his wife, Sheryl, of Midlothian; four grandchildren, Evan and Ben Hopkins and Kevin and Jenny Irby; one sister, Frances I. Roller, of Mt. Laurel, Va.; and two brothers, Kenneth Irby of South Boston, Va. and John Wayne Irby of Mt. Laurel, Va.
Mr. Irby was a member of Midlothian Masonic Lodge No. 211, American Legion Post #186, Midlothian Ruritan Club, and Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired as vice-president and treasurer of the former Walter D. Moses Company. His remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either, Patrick Henry Boys’ Home, P.O.
