Wayne’s early career in the automotive industry, selling cars, fed his love for vehicles and restoring them, which he did on occasion with his younger brother. His passion for vehicles – new and old – never waned, and one could typically find him on occasion visiting local car lots perusing the new models. He later transitioned to a long, successful management career with local Charlottesville pharmacy/retail outlet Standard Drug that would lead to larger roles with CVS and Rite Aid pharmacies. He would also come to own his own restaurant with two partners for a time while residing in the Charlottesville area.
In 2018, Wayne retired and spent time tending to his yard, perusing car lots, enjoying family, and time on his patio while watching his and Clara’s dogs playing in the yard.
Wayne was strong willed and had an enormous heart and was always there for family and friends. He was a caring, generous, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, sibling and friend. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends.
Wayne was a member of the Charlottesville Church of the Brethren.
