Born on December 16, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio to Dr. Herman D. Pocock, Jr. (2014) and Constance L. Woodhead (1999), who preceded him in death. “Rock” was the youngest of six towering siblings. Tom Pocock (Nina Radakovich) and Timothy Pocock (Anne Lemieux) are left to carry on the sibling rivalry, while Nancy Payton (2021), Mike Pocock (2018), and Bill Pocock (1993) greeted him in heaven with open arms and knuckle sandwiches.
After graduating from Andrew Warde High School and Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, Rocky embarked on a successful career spanning over 40 years with General Electric. Married to his first wife, Betsy Homa, they settled with their daughters Melissa, Sarah, and Laura in Midlothian, Virginia.
Remarried in 2000, Rocky and Denise Bernhagen blended their families with bonus daughters Tarren and Sheree ensuring Rocky was not only outnumbered in arguments, but the cherished apple of his five daughters’ eyes. Rocky and Denise enjoyed golfing together and spending time cruising around Smith Mountain Lake.
Rocky is survived by his loving wife Denise and daughters Melissa Kaldas (Jonathan), Sarah Patterson (Michael), Laura Gould (Bryan), Tarren Ismail (Erkan), and Sheree Corbin-Deloe (Bryan); and grandchildren Will Patterson, Hannah Patterson, Wyatt Gould, Symon Gould, Sadie Gould, and Leyla Ismail. He leaves behind family and friends (and a couple of cats) who carry his memory in their hearts.
