Polly was born in Clearbrook VA to the late Gover Orndoff and Bessie Irene Dyke. She graduated in 1958 from Charles Town High School in WV. She and her then husband, Robert, raised their three children in Berryville VA. After relocating in Madison VA, she married W.W. Gentry and moved to Orange VA. They decided to move to Apache Junction AZ for the warm weather. Unfortunately, health reasons brought her back to VA, where she lived with Terry and Barry.
She enjoyed oil painting, mostly landscapes, she loved to read, bowling, playing horseshoes, visiting casinos and of course, her Chardonnay. She also enjoyed the family vacations to the beach. Her sweetness (and her snarkiness) will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ALS Foundation, als.org/donate or The American Cancer Society, cancer.org/donate.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chippenham Medical Center, Terry's work family. The staff at James River Hospice and the staff at Beaufont Health and Rehabilitation.
