Elvie Gallimore Jones

JONES, Elvie Gallimore, 90, died November 21, 2018. Survivors include three daughters, Susan Jones Ryan (S. Kelley), Anne Jones Nowak (David) and Sharon Rixey Jones (Donald); one brother, Cappy Ray Gallimore; six sisters, Ruby Dallas Gallimore, Joyce Gallimore Pascoe, Eula Mae (Julie) Gallimore Crewey, Olaf Ellen Gallimore, Linda Gallimore Smith and Janet Gallimore Webb; five grandchildren, Christian Ryan (Jamie), Brett Ryan (Abby), Olivia Paul, Jeremy Paul and Liana Nowak; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Stella; and other extended family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Jones; her father, Payton Gallimore; mother, Maudie Phillips Gallimore; brothers, Edsel Gallimore and Alfred Gallimore; and sisters, Dorcas Gallimore Kent and Clarice June Gallimore Chrisman.

Mrs. Jones graduated from Blacksburg High School. She resided in Chesterfield until 2011, at which time she alternated spending time with her daughters in North Carolina and Georgia with visits to friends and family in Blacksburg and Richmond.

Her remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 16, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 17.
