He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and George King; and his sister, Shirley Jordan.
He is survived by his wife, Joan King; his daughter, Susan Putze; nephews, Mike Jordan and Irvin Jordan; niece, Barbara Ann Jordan; and a host of other family members and friends.
After high school he joined the US Army where he was an expert marksman and served in Germany for a number of years. After his military service he worked for Woodfin Oil Company, retiring after 40 years. He was also a competition shooter where he excelled at both pistols and rifles, and won a number of trophies.
He was a good husband, father and friend.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Monday, December 4 at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10am at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave.
