Born August 29, 1932, in Norfolk, Va., she grew up and lived most of her working life in Richmond, Va. Once a prominent Realtor in the Richmond area, Betty began her real estate career with JD Carneal & Sons, Realty. Continuing her passion in real estate, she later worked for Executive Realty and eventually opened her own company, Homemark Property and Associates, where she provided invaluable services to the people of Richmond for many years to follow. As a business enthusiast, Betty also provided bookkeeping services for her husband’s (Bud Long) company, Long Advertising Agency. Betty was also a member of the Tuckahoe Junior Women’s Club of Richmond. In 1977, Betty and Bud relocated to Midlothian, Va.
A true southern belle, Betty was a beautiful and charming woman with a warm smile and unforgettable, delightful personality. She loved her faith and has been a proud and devoted member of the Huguenot Road Baptist Church since 1990, where she served on multiple committees.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Bud, Betty is survived by six children; Rick, Russ, Jeff, David, Janet and Rob; 16 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am, followed by interment at Westhampton Memorial Park, at 12:30 p.m.
