Eddie Ray Lawson

Born in Greensboro, NC, Eddie spent much of his life in Richmond. He was devoted to his career in the Blood Banking industry and started in 1975 at Virginia Blood Services, where he spent the next 26 years before becoming the Recruitment Director at the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. His final position was at the Blood Alliance in Jacksonville, Florida, where he retired as President/CEO in 2015.

In his spare time, Eddie was an avid runner, clocking hundreds of miles in marathons all over the Mid-Atlantic. In addition to running, Eddie enjoyed fishing, gardening, stories of the Old West, Hemingway and a glass of Guinness on tap.

Eddie will be placed to rest in a private ceremony in Southwest Virginia where he will join those in his family who proceeded him in death.

The family would like to thank cousins Dennis Riggins and Deanna Lynn Riggins Mootz for their kindness and support during Eddie’s illness.
