He is preceded in death by his loving sister, Connie Powell.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Kay Powell; his son, Terry Powell Jr.; his daughter, Brittany Renick, whom he affectionately called BB, and her husband, Bryce; his son, Brandon Powell, lovingly known as 'Big Duck'; his granddaughter, Ryann Powell; his grandson, Eliah Renick; his father, Ralph Powell; his mother, Peggy Powell; his sister, Donna Pyle, and her husband, Keith; and his niece, Ashleigh Pyle.
Born on October 26, 1967, Terry grew up with a deep love for his family and friends. He was a skilled welder by trade, admired for his dedication and expertise in his field. Terry had a huge heart and loved deeply. His wife was his soulmate and one true love. Terry loved his children and family more than words can express. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was very giving and enjoyed helping others and seeing them smile. His family was incredibly important to him.
Terry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours tending to his vegetable garden, where he found peace and fulfillment. His love for nature was evident in the abundant produce he shared with family and friends. He enjoyed reading books, listening to podcasts, and had a great appreciation for music from all genres. Terry was an excellent cook and always aimed to replicate his mom’s recipes. He had a deep love for the Miami Dolphins and enjoyed watching their games.
Terry will be remembered for his kind spirit and his love for his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
A memorial service will be held on April 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Rd., Midlothian, VA. The family then invites you to a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause that was very important to Terry.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at MCV/VCU hospital for their exceptional care and support. A special thanks to Chelsea on 8 West, who treated Terry like family.
