David Theodore Herr

He was preceded in death by parents, David Thiele Herr and Josephine M. Busch; and sister, Barbara Ann Sczepkowski.

He is survived by wife, Rose M. Herr; children, David J. Herr (Mary Anne), Melissa A. Rubin (Jason); grandchildren, David S. Herr, Samantha A. Herr, Anya J. Rubin, Chelsea L. Rubin; sister, JoAnn Herr (Brian Michel), brother, Ben Herr (Sheila); as well as many extended family and friends

David was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he served in the US Navy from 1959-1963, spending two years in Japan. He had a career in the Technology field, and was a long time resident of Manhasset, New York, and relocated to Midlothian, Virginia recently.

David was a long time NY Jets fan, enjoyed photography, and was active in Scouting.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, March 20 at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel. Military honors will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 21 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.

Donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital or charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the special caregivers during his last years, and the doctors and nurses of Johnston-Willis Hospital.
