IN THE CARE OF
Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel
Charles Wesley Williford went to be with the Lord on August 10th, 2019, peacefully at his home.
Born in Blytheville, Arkansas on August 24th, 1935, he was the son of James Wesley Williford and Mary Short. He graduated from Gosnell High School. He served two years in the Army and afterward established a career as a cryptanalyst working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C.
Charles was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church where he assisted with bookkeeping. He enjoyed word puzzles, playing games, especially cards, and was fascinated with ancient history such as Egyptian or Biblical. Friends and family will remember him most for his quick witted sense of humor and his enjoyment of simply socializing.
He is survived by his sons David Charles Williford and Douglas Wayne Williford. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Deborah Williford, wife of David, and his wife of fifty years, Betty Ann Mobley Williford.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Woody Funeral Home – Huguenot Chapel from 5-8 PM. Services will follow Tuesday in the chapel. Interment will be held at Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery.
