Charles Avant Miller III
March 18, 1939 – December 20, 2022

Charles Avant Miller, III "C.A." passed away peacefully on December 20, 2022. A devoted husband, father, and friend; he was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him during his amazing life.
Born in Greenwood, MS to Hattie and C.A. Miller, Jr., he was an avid football player, Eagle Scout, fire truck chaser and practical joker. He received his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Mississippi where he was a proud brother of Sigma Chi Fraternity. His love for Ole Miss Football endured until his last day. He joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served in the Army Reserves.
C.A. was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie and C.A. Miller, Jr. of Greenwood, MS and sister Joan Miller Houston.
C.A. is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Kathy, of 33 years, whom he cherished. He is also survived by three children, Darden Miller Kelly (Steve), Anne Douglas Miller (Dedee), Van Miller (Marsha) and stepson, Ken Edwards (Carrie-Lynn). He was beloved by his six grandchildren, Alex Miller, Lauren Miller, Ava Miller, Eliza Trotter, Nathan Edwards and Hadley Edwards.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 11am-noon, at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot, with a memorial service to follow in the chapel. Interment will be private at the Virginia Veteran's Cemetery at Amelia.
