She graduated from John Marshall High School and Smithdeal Massey Business College in Richmond. Caroline retired from Prudential Insurance Company. She was a deacon and President of Sunday School classes at Westover Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Chesmond Women’s Club.
Her love of God, family, church and friends was evident in the way she lived her life. Her examples of strength, kindness, and understanding of how to live leaves a strong legacy for her family and friends.
Caroline was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Franklin A Williams, and her second husband, James N. Brooks. She is survived by her daughters Carol Gholson Patenaude and husband Dave, Martha W. Carleton and husband Fred, five grandchildren Dean Gholson and wife Kim, Chad Gholson and wife Katherine, Justin Perkinson, Ashley Carleton and Freddie Carleton; four great grandchildren, Brad, Kevin, Lindsey, and Barry Gholson; and a brother, Ted Felger and wife Mary.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 -8:00, at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, Va. There will be a memorial service at Westover Baptist Church 1000 Westover Hills Boulevard Richmond, VA 23225 at 12:00pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, Interment will be private.
