JOHANSEN, Carey DDS, 98, of Richmond, Va., born in India, the son of the late Thorvald and Anna Johansen, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 21, 2012. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion H. Johansen. He is survived by his wife, Ruby M. Johansen; his children, Robert C. Johansen and his wife, Nancy, of Midlothian, Sharon A. Bath and her husband, Jim, of Lancaster, Pa., Stephen P. Johansen DDS and his wife, Barbara, of Midlothian, Deborah A. Johansen of Lancaster, Pa.; three stepchildren, Larry Miller and his wife, Linda, of Gainsville, Va., Fred Miller and his wife, Gerri, of Virginia Beach, and Betty Law and her husband, Allan, of Jetersville; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two nephews. Dr. Johansen was a retired dentist from the VA after 37 years of service. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., and where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Missionary Fund. A special thanks from the family to Eddie Adams and Mary Grant for their loving care.
