CROLL, Allen Ray, 80 of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. A twenty year veteran of the US Navy and Air Force, Al “Red” retired from the Department of Defense in 1995. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Edna “Sue” Croll; siblings, Elizabeth Cutler and Joyce Salisbury of Pennsylvania; brother, Calvin Croll of Connecticut; his five children, Charles Croll (Karen), Catherine Welborn (Tracey), Cynthia Bratton (Teno), Jennifer Rector (Trey) and Julia Grove (Steve); and his eight grandchildren, Ethan, Abigail, Cody, Sam, Danny, Hannah, Laura and Isabelle. He will always be loved and remembered for his kindness of heart, gentle spirit and wonderful sense of humor. A memorial service for family and friends will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road.
