W.B. “Wes” Perry Jr. of Midland, TX went to be with the Lord and his daughter on Tuesday, October, 2, 2012. He was born on July 25, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to W.B. “Jack” Perry (on his twenty-first birthday) and to Juanita Clemons Perry. He graduated from Putnam City High School in 1950 and served with U.S. Air Force in 1951 and in the Korean War in 1952. He graduated from Oklahoma University in 1956 and moved to Midland in 1957 to work as a geologist with Amerada Petroleum Corporation. He was given the nickname “Wes” by his Midland friends.
Wes married Jackie L. McCright of Sweetwater, TX on February 14, 1959, after first seeing her on the OU campus in 1956 and following her and his heart. He was with many oil companies until his last company sold out and he became un-employed for thirty-plus years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, several geological societies, and various social clubs. He loved his family, his church and his profession.
Surviving him are his wife Jackie and one daughter, Dru Anne Perry Moss, who was born on his thirtieth birthday and her husband, John Christopher “Chris” Moss of Flower Mound, TX. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dara Perry Bush. Also surviving are seven grandchildren Blake Perry Bush and his wife Rachel of Midland; Chase Perry Cakmis of Flower Mound, TX; Brent Wesley Moss of Midland; Brooke Lane Moss of Flower Mound, TX; Cody Christopher Moss of Rowlett, TX; Catherine Mae Cakmis of Flower Mound, TX; Brittni Nicole Moss of Southlake, TX and two great-granddaughters, Addison Lane Bush and Parker Linn Bush of Midland. Honorary Pallbearers are Tom Moore, Rex Rowland, Jim Walton, Perry Bolger, Wayne Murrell, Jeff Thon all of Midland and Tom Fullerton of Irving, TX; Matt Dowling of Oklahoma City, OK; Gene Staton of Marble Falls, TX and Ronald Knight of Hot Spring Village, AR.
