Robert “Bob” Kenneth Dillow went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, April 1, 2010 after a brief illness. Bob was born in Bluefield, Virginia on November 24, 1929 to Robert Meek Dillow and Helen Irene Neal Dillow. He accepted Christ at age 12 and was a Methodist. Bob married his lifelong sweetheart, Betty Sue Clenney, on June 6, 1953 in Evansville, Indiana. He served in the U. S. Navy on the U. S. Coral Sea from December 1946 to February 1950. After his discharge from the Navy, he came to Midland where he worked for Ram Guns, Schlumberger and the U. S. Post Office from 1958-1979. He moved to Brownwood Texas as Carrier Supervisor for the U. S. Post Office and retired as Postmaster in San Saba, Texas in 1984.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Biddie Ann Dillow and Jane VanSickle and one brother Jack Dillow.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty; his children, Helen Whitehead and husband Jimmy; Jim Dillow and wife Beverly; Susan Morris and husband Charles; and Cindy Delay and husband Dale; his grandchildren, Charles Roberts; John Morris; Rebecca Wilson; Patti Rhoads; Christina Henderson; Bobby Whitehead; Nathan Dillow; and Dustin Delay, his great-grandchildren, Taylor Roberts; Lauren Roberts; Brady Wilson; April Rhoads; Oliver Rhoads; Zoe Rhoads; and Blake Wilson. Also survived by a sister, Joyce Boling; and brother, Marvin Dillow; Temer and Pat White; Carol and Kenny Bradshaw; Larry and Donna White; and Marquitta Scott. The family will receive friends and guests at the Ellis Funeral Home, Sunday, April 4, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 P. M. and 8:00 P.M. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 5, 2010 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor H. W. Erwin, Jr. of Second Baptist Church and Pastor Bill Skaggs of Kelview Heights Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Charles Roberts, John Morris, Bobby Whitehead, Nathan Dillow, Dustin Delay, Heath Wilson, Rodrick Rhoads, and Kyle Henderson.
