Reta was born on February 28, 1941, in Levelland, Texas, to Wilson and Elouise Cooksey Woodley. She was raised on her grandfather’s ranch in Whiteface, Texas, until the age of 10, when the family moved to Levelland. She graduated from Levelland High School in 1958, where she was in the band and a twirler.
She met the love of her life, J.L. (Jake) Dalrymple, the summer of 1958, and they were married at Wesley Methodist Church in Levelland on March 6, 1959. They were blessed with a son Erich in 1964.
The family moved to Midland in 1966. She worked for a group of geologists until the mid-80’s when she became an antique dealer.
Reta was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and a sister.
She is survived by her son Erich of Midland, brother Eddie of Levelland, brother Gary of Waxahachie, Texas, and members of Wednesday Night Supper Club.
A celebration of Reta's life will be at graveside on Friday, November 8, at 11:00 AM at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
